AMEL 60
The tremendous success of the AMEL 50 (well over 100 units sold since launch & European Yacht of the Year 2018) immediately prompted the call for a big sister." So it's no surprise that AMEL has put this wish into action just 1.5 years later!
Thus, the new AMEL 60 deliberately features the genes of the AMEL 50 and also impresses with the typical AMEL performance features that AMEL customers have always sworn by:
- Unrestricted single-handed suitability and maximum comfort.
- Very high safety potential
- Virtually unsinkable due to several watertight collision bulkheads
- Completely covered cockpit with protected steering position
- Excellent seakeeping, even in heavy weather conditions
- Large, centrally accessible engine room
- Lots of storage space on and below deck
- Fixed railing
So even the newest AMEL is a real AMEL! And although four feet smaller than its predecessor, the AMEL 64, the space available - due to the long waterline - is hardly less than that of the 64. However, the boat is even more manageable, easier to maneuver and faster. In addition to the well-balanced hull shape, the standard carbon furling mast is responsible for this - an absolute novelty in this segment of blue-water cruising yachts!
But also otherwise the AMEL 60 impresses by its extensive and high-quality standard equipment: So you find in the stand specification lithium service battery, electric winches, an extendable bow thruster, various navigation electronics incl. autopilot, carbon gangway, washing machine, dishwasher, large TV flat screen with audio system and much more!
In the layout, in addition to the usual huge owner's area, there are two spacious and equal guest cabins, each with its own bathroom.
All these features, coupled with the legendary AMEL quality, result in a unique yacht! The editors-in-chief of Europe's leading yacht magazines have also recognized this and voted the AMEL 60 "European Yacht of the Year" in January 2020!
"She is truly an outstanding yacht: the AMEL 60 belongs in a league of her own. She is well thought out down to the last detail and offers the highest level of safety. A true bluewater cruiser."
Loic Madeline, Voiles & Voiliers (Frankreich)
"As far as luxury goes, the AMEL 60 has few counterparts."
Alberto Marioatti; Vela e Motore (Italien)
"Decades of bluewater experience is here condensed to the essentials, presented in a immaculate finish!"
Marinus van Sijdenborgh; Zeilen (Holland)
“The Amel 60 is a very individual boat and, in that respect, it sticks to the blueprint that Henri Amel started out with. The design team has also worked hard to produce a modern yacht that retains the clever, individualistic thinking of earlier designs. The quality throughout is also absolutely superb and the attention to detail, excellent – although this comes at a price.
In terms of her sailing qualities, she inspired total confidence and also entertained in wild conditions.
Ultimately, this is an individual boat and, like a rather British product – Marmite – will engender strong emotions both for and against. If you’re a serious blue water cruiser though, this is a great boat to consider.”
Sam Jefferson; Sailing Today (UK)
“She offers unique living comfort, meets the very highest safety standards and is well thought out in all respects.“
Roland Duller; Yacht Revue (Österreich)
